A disappointing display with a weakened team saw Barrow suffer their first away league defeat since before Christmas. Marine took the lead in the 27th minute with a fine 25 yard shot from Black and went further ahead in the 34th minute when a free kick went unchallenged and Nolan headed in. Dawson had a chance for Barrow but blasted wide.
Tearney replaced Hume at half time as Barrow went 3-4-3. Singh was booked and then Kewley and Scott Redhead replaced Dawson and Housham. On 70 minutes, Anderson should have done better with a good Brough cross but headed wide. In the 87th minute, Gautrey headed on a cross to McNally, who made it 3-0. However, Ridley immediately pulled one back with a 25 yarder which dipped under the bar.
