Report by Paul Regan

Difficult game to sum up really, at the end of the day we got what we went for, but Im sure all Barrow fans at the game will agree we were hardly worth it.

It was a poor game played in blustery conditions, BPA had the wind at their backs in the First half, but didn`t make best use of it and apart from forcing Capp into a useful save when through One on One BPA didn`t look like they posed much threat.

Our best chance of the First half came close to half time, when Neil Campbell turned and shot from about Twelve yards only to see his shot hit the post.

With the wind behind us in the Second half, I expected us to apply more pressure and dominate the game against what was in all honesty a poor outfit.

This never really materialised, to BPA`s credit they tried to get the ball down and play more than they did in the First half, and gave us a few minor scares in the process.

The game was pretty much a midfield battle with precious few chances until Kewley replaced the disappointing Knight.

Within a couple of minutes of Kewleys arrival on the field he battled for a ball he had no right to get and won us a corner, from the resulting corner we scored our goal.

Anthony swung a near post corner aiming for a flick from the unimpressive Campbell the flick wasn`t forthcoming, but the BPA keeper flapped at it Twice and a defender made a half clearance, the ball made it`s way to Flitcroft just outside the box who hit a crisp shot in off the post into the top corner to give us a lead many thought we didn`t deserve.

After the goal BPA obviously tried to salvage something from a game which to be frank we didn`t deserve to be in front in, and almost did so about Five minutes from time and would have done if it wasn`t for the impressive Capp making a smart save down to his Left from a header Eight yards out.

Capp for me was our man of the match, he made Two fantastic saves and was almost faultless in his handling of crosses in conditions that can`t have been ideal for goalkeepers.

Flitcroft also played well and deserved his goal, as did Anthony and Paterson before he was substituted.

We looked a bit shaky at the back and it was just as well that Capp was alert on occasions other than his saves, or we could have been looking at a very different result.

After the game when leaving the ground, the common consensus from the travelling Barrow fans was that we were obviously pleased with the Three points, but that the result just papers over the cracks and that we are no better than we were last week, or the week before and we just met a bad team and scraped home against them.
