Chris Ward - Striker

Born in Preston, Chris began his career in the West Lancs League firstly with Springfields and then with Fulwood Amateurs. In the summer of 1999, he joined Lancaster City and quickly became a prolific striker. In the spring of 2001, City accepted a sizeable five figure offer from Birmingham City then in Division One of the Football League to secure his services.
He failed to break into the first team at St Andrews and he spent two spells on loan in the Conference during the 2001-02 season. He featured for both Forest Green Rovers and Southport. In August 2002, Chris joined Barrow and made his debut on the opening day of the season in the home game against Hucknall Town. He scored his first goal in his second game at Runcorn Halton. He made his final appearance in the 2-2 draw at Bradford in mid September. He then accepted an offer to return to the Conference with Leigh RMI on a two year deal. Only one month later, he was released by the Railwaymen, and moved to join Third Division Lincoln City for the remainder of the season. Ward played 6 times before being released at the end of the 2002/03 season whereupon he moved to Northwich Victoria. He had a spell with Bamber Bridge before joining Kendal Town. Signed for Mossley in October 2006, having a brief spell before moving on to Clitheroe in January 2007.
