Ryan Zico Black - Midfielder

Ryan-Zico Black was named after Brazilian legend Zico. He joined Morecambe and worked his way through to the first team, winning Northern Ireland international honours at under 18 and under 21 levels. He also played for Guernsey in the 2005 Island games.


He made over 100 league appearances for Morecambe before being released to join Northwich Victoria during the 2003/04 season, before moving into the Irish League Premier Division with Glenavon in 2003-04. Had a one game trial for Barrow v Queen of the South in July 2004. Later signed for Lancaster City. Joined Kettering Town as Gazza's first signing in late 2005 and was released in the summer of 2006, rejoining Lancaster City in July. Ryan became a victim of Lancaster's need to cut costs and joined Barrow in November 2006. Was released in May 2007. Despite reports suggesting Zico was going to Spain to try and continue his career there, he rejoined Lancaster City in August 2007.
